Selah Nights: Tune Your Heart

Experience an evening of worship led by Selah Nights Director, Jennifer Hamm. Jennifer’s voice blends the beauty of classical training with the heartfelt storytelling of musical theater and the warmth of contemporary Christian worship. During this one-hour pause, you will have the opportunity to just sit and listen, to participate, and even respond. From traditional hymns to contemporary praise songs to modern Christian ballads, every part of this service aims to meet you where you are. Valley Presbyterian Church’s new Senior Pastor, Chris Woodard, will lead us through scripture, prayer, and reflection. Selah Nights offers a chance to pause, breathe, and tune your heart to God's voice before the week ahead.

Jennifer Hamm, originally from Scottsdale, Arizona, grew up singing under her mother’s direction in youth and church choirs. She was given a choral scholarship to Arizona State University, where she received her Bachelor of Music degree in vocal performance. While at ASU, she worked as her mother’s assistant and bell choir director at Mt. View Presbyterian Church in Scottsdale. Jennifer attended University of Colorado at Boulder, under scholarship, where she received her Master of Music degree in vocal performance. Jennifer moved to New York to pursue a performing career in opera and musical theatre. While there, she didn’t find Broadway, but she found her love of teaching and directing choirs. From Colorado to New Jersey, to Texas and Phoenix, Jennifer has been a church choir director at five different churches, and a music teacher at elementary and high schools. Currently, Jennifer is the Minister of Music and Worship at Valley Presbyterian Church, continuing her love for creative traditional and contemporary church music. Creating meaningful musical worship services is a passion of Jennifer’s that she is so excited to share with MSW. Jennifer is married to her musical husband, Joseph, and they have two musical children, Molly and Jaxon. God is good!
